Getting to the Kreuzjochhaus
The Kreuzjochhaus nestles on a sunny slope above Garmisch-Partenkirchen, just a short walk from the Kreuzeck skiing and hiking area. Here you’ll find stunning views of the Wetterstein massif, the Alpspitze and King Ludwig II’s Schachen Castle. Our century-old mountain lodge is situated very close to the world-famous Kandahar ski run, yet remains untouched by the tourist hustle and bustle. At the Kreuzjochhaus, a cosy temporary retreat set amidst unspoilt nature, you can consciously enjoy priceless luxury: peace and quiet, a slower pace, a break from it all, and pure nature.
Important information on your journey
The Kreuzjochhaus can only be reached from the Kreuzeckbahn valley station by gondola or via a roughly 2-hour hike. Don’t miss the last gondola ride up the mountain. From the gondola’s mountain station, it’s a further 15-minute walk to the house, offering magnificent views over the Alpine foothills. Please ensure you wear suitable footwear and carry appropriate luggage. We recommend rucksacks and hiking boots. On request, we can arrange a luggage service from the mountain station to the house.

Getting there
by Train
Take the regional train to Garmisch-Partenkirchen
Transfer to the Zugspitzbahn and get off at the Kreuzeckbahnhof stop. It’s a 3-minute walk to the Kreuzeckbahn valley station
From the Kreuzeckbahn Valley Station to the Kreuzjochhaus
From the Kreuzeckbahn Valley Station, take the gondola to the mountain station at 1,650 meters. There is often snow from September to May.
Please note the gondola’s last ascent!
From the top station, it is about a 15-minute walk to the Kreuzjochhaus.
Please make sure your luggage and footwear are appropriate for the weather. We recommend hiking boots or sturdy shoes. Backpacks are better suited than rolling suitcases.
